Health & Safety Policy

Illness Guidelines

To support the health of all learners and staff, children must meet the following criteria before attending any G.E.M. CLASS experiences:

• Fever-free for at least 24 hours without medication

• Symptom-free for at least 24 hours (including vomiting, diarrhea, persistent cough, etc.)

• Not showing signs of a new or contagious illness

If a child begins to show symptoms during the day, a parent/guardian will be contacted and may be asked to pick up their child.

Medical Emergencies

The safety and well-being of every child is our highest priority. In the event of a medical emergency, G.E.M. CLASS representatives will:

1. Respond immediately

We will assess the situation and ensure your child is supported and safe.

2. Contact a parent/guardian right away

We will call using the emergency contact information provided.

3. Call 911 if necessary

Emergency medical services will be contacted without delay when needed.

4. Provide continuous supervision

A trained instructor will remain with your child until a parent/guardian arrives or emergency personnel take over.

5. Maintain group safety

Other children will continue to be supervised by additional instructors to ensure a calm and secure environment.

Participation Acknowledgment

Participation in any G.E.M. CLASS experiences, events, or offerings constitutes acknowledgment and agreement to this Health & Safety Policy, as well as all other policies and waiver terms outlined on this page.
